Dear Cautious Optimist,

This month’s newsletter is a special one. After more than forty years of guiding individuals and families—and helping shape the very culture of our firm—my trusted partner and our senior advisor, Jim Werst, is stepping into a well‑earned retirement.

If you’ve worked with Jim, you know how deeply he cares about people and how committed he has been to helping clients navigate life’s financial twists and turns with calm, wisdom, and integrity. Even if you have not met with him directly, you’ve felt his influence in the way our entire team shows up for you—with empathy, clarity, and a long‑term perspective.

While this is the close of an important chapter, it is not a goodbye. Jim will continue to support Align as a consultant to our Investment Committee, lending his seasoned perspective as we uphold the high standards our clients expect and deserve. We are grateful for the foundation he helped build and excited for the future we’ll continue shaping together.
